New book helps IFAs survive and thrive

24th July 2009

Informed Choice directors Nick Bamford and Martin Bamford have written a new book, to help IFAs survive and thrive in the new world of retail financial services.

The book, which is called Get the Adviser Advantage, describes the five year journey which started in the summer of 2004 with the decision to turn their business into a professional advisory practice which was future-proof.  It covers a wide range of topics, including proposition, client segmentation, marketing, pricing fees, technology and branding.

Co-author Martin Bamford commented:

"We wrote this book in direct response to the challenge set by the recent FSA Retail Distribution Review consultation paper.  Many IFAs now have a reasonably short timeframe to make significant changes to all aspects of their business.  By sharing our experience of business transition we hope that others can avoid some of the mistakes we made and create a clear plan of action."

Get the Adviser Advantage is available in paperback, published by Lulu, or as an instant PDF download.  The 138-page book is priced at £12.99 for the printed version or £6.25 for download.  Copies of either version can be purchased from www.adviseradvantage.co.uk/book.

For additional information or high resolution photographs, please contact Martin Bamford on 01483 274566 or 07736 444319, or by email to martin@icl-ifa.co.uk.  Preview copies of the book are available to journalists.
